Client Background & Challenge

LogisTech Solutions manages a fleet of 5,000+ long-haul trucks across Europe. Their legacy system updated GPS coordinates every 5 minutes, leading to massive inefficiencies in route planning and poor visibility for clients. They needed a real-time IoT ingestion engine capable of tracking vehicle telemetry, engine health, and driver fatigue at 1-second intervals.

Solution Architecture

We bypassed traditional REST APIs in favor of an MQTT broker for lightweight, low-latency communication with the truck sensors. Data streams were ingested by AWS IoT Core and processed in real-time by Apache Flink to detect anomalies (like sudden braking or engine overheating). Time-series data was stored efficiently in TimescaleDB.

Business Outcomes

By implementing an AI-driven route optimization algorithm on top of the real-time data, LogisTech reduced fuel consumption by 14% and improved estimated delivery time accuracy from 65% to 94%.
